salaam- free tuition?
salaam,
my name is farahezza from malaysia. i plan to go to arab speaking country next year (2009). but for now, i have a very vague idea on where should i go and study arabic. initially, i wanted to go to jordan, but i found out it is too expensive. i applied to a saudi university and got the admission with 1 conditon-a mahram would follow have to follow me and it's impossible for me to do that.*sigh*
i know that sudan and egypt's universities provide free tuition to study arabic.. i think i would want to go either of these places.
my first choice would be al-azhar university, because Inshaallah, i would want to do my phd there too, but having listened to my arab/arabic-speaking friends, egytians use ammiah arab and it's not a very good choice to go there..
another friend said that, if i go to sudan, there will definitely be a Sudanese accented/ slanged arabic. so, it doesnt matter at all..
so, members of the floor, i really need to hear second opinions. i would really appreciate if anybody who can provide me information on any free-course arabic study anywhere, brcause very frankly i am in economically constraint. ( FYI, i am still a masters student expected to finish by this year, Inshaallah and not working)
