Al-Diwan is a language Centre specialising in teaching Arabic as a foreign language, a favourite with students from America. Their normal program has 18 levels where the text used is 'Kitaabul Assasee' and 'Al-Muhadatha al-'Arabiyya' (Arabic Conversation). As with all private institutes they have tailor made programs to suit the student.
QIAS has been long-established to teach Arabic as a language to students who are from non-Arab speaking countries. Its framework of teaching is very similar to Fajr's though they differ in the text used for teaching.
The Centre’s complete standard curriculum is composed of 11 levels, 5 weeks per level. Your level is determined by a placement examination taken prior to attending classes. Each level is made up of 75 hours of study.
Arabic Language Institute of AUC, is perhaps one of the most established and well-known programs for acquiring knowledge of the Arabic language. The Arabic Language Institute administers two programs: Intensive Arabic and the Centre for Arabic Study Abroad (CASA) programs. These programs also credit towards a degree at AUC.
An extensive program, which requires a commitment of a number of years. However this depends on your level of Arabic and the program you wish to study. Entrance is based on a placement test, placing students in either high school or primary school. After the High school classes one joins the university and specializes in one of the Islamic sciences.
