The University has an Arabic program for foreign students. They have two courses on offer for students. The first is an 8 week Modern Standard Arabic program beginning May 28 2005. Their second course is a 4 week summer program, with beginning dates of May 28 or June 27 2005.
IASP at the King Fahd Advanced School of Translation offers Modern Standard (at intermediate level), with elementary and intermediate Moroccan colloquial. From our research it seems that this course is conducted in cooperation with some American Universities, fellowships are available for American students. This may be a good opportunity for American Muslims wishing to study Arabic Abroad.
The Arabic Language Institute in Fez (ALIF) offers courses in Modern Standard Arabic and Colloquial Moroccan Arabic. The institute offers six and three week courses in all levels of Arabic. Most courses consist of six-week sessions of 120 hours of classroom instruction given four hours per day. Private or specialised lessons can also be arranged at the students request.
Al-Qarawiyin University in Fez is the main centre for Islamic studies. Unfortunately we have not been successful in ascertaining information on the Islamic Studies program or the Arabic program.
Bayyan Centre was established in 2004 by Mohammed Hassan, a popular private teacher with students from England. The centre is located in Swissry 10th district 'Hayy A'shir'. Majority of the lessons on offer are private, though group classes may be taught by other teachers from the centre. Private lessons have a flat fees per level, with students studying 1.5 hrs a day.
Cairo Centre is operated under the managemnet of Ustaz Ahmed a former teacher at Alim Centre. The Centre has a relaxed atmosphere and is located at the ground floor of an apartment block in Nasr City 8th district 'Madinah Nasr Hayy Thamin'. Both private and group tuition is available. Course material is varied and can be tailored to suit the individualâ€™s needs.
At Alim Centre, the foundation course has a strong emphasis on speaking and listening. Upon completing this stage the student can then focus on grammar and writing skills. The Centre's main text for Arabic is 'Kitaabul Assasee' with other specific text to complement the text book.
The Arab Academy offers online Arabic language courses. It serves individuals as well as institutions. Individuals may subscribe to the courses and have the credit hours transferred to their schools or universities. The Academy has a well designed website with lots of useful information in regards to the course structure.

Nile Centre is located in the famous Nasr City Madinah Nasr area. The standard Arabic Language program consists of 3 distinct stages with 4 levels per stage (a total of 12 leves). Standard course consists of 50 hours, 5 lectures a week with each lecture 2 hours long. The text used for teaching is specific to the Centre with further details on course structure available on their website.
