The various Arabic Institutes in Fèz, have placed Morocco on the world map for Arabic studies. However Fèz, in the Islamic world has been traditionally renowned for *Al-Qarawiyyin Mosque and University for well over twelve hundred years. A typical Institute, of many, underlying how learning constituted the heart of Islam and its civilisation.

DMG's main office is situated in Fez, and have branches in Casablanca, Rabat and Meknes. The centre offer courses in Moroccan and Modern Standard Arabic. The institute is managed by a German director. The centre offers tuitions for groups as well as private classes.

The University has an Arabic program for foreign students. They have two courses on offer for students. The first is an 8 week Modern Standard Arabic program beginning May 28 2005. Their second course is a 4 week summer program, with beginning dates of May 28 or June 27 2005.

IASP at the King Fahd Advanced School of Translation offers Modern Standard (at intermediate level), with elementary and intermediate Moroccan colloquial. From our research it seems that this course is conducted in cooperation with some American Universities, fellowships are available for American students. This may be a good opportunity for American Muslims wishing to study Arabic Abroad.

The Arabic Language Institute in Fez (ALIF) offers courses in Modern Standard Arabic and Colloquial Moroccan Arabic. The institute offers six and three week courses in all levels of Arabic. Most courses consist of six-week sessions of 120 hours of classroom instruction given four hours per day. Private or specialised lessons can also be arranged at the students request.

Al-Qarawiyin University in Fez is the main centre for Islamic studies. Unfortunately we have not been successful in ascertaining information on the Islamic Studies program or the Arabic program.
